Cleaning baking trays and racks

So, built up the enthusiasm last night to tackle the oven and baking trays/racks. I washed them for what seemed like hours but they still barely looked better. Anyway, I checked youtube and watched some videos on there about soaking them in the bath in hot water with dishwasher tablets/capsules. I left them soaking overnight and this morning there was a lot of grease floating about in the water. However, there were also still quite a few places on the trays/racks where the grease had softened but was still on the cookware. How do you get this stuff off? I tried a scouring clothing but all that resulted in was smearing all the cookware with the softened grease. Anybody got any ideas?

You need Oven Mate, it's a gel that you paint on with a brush then wipe off after 12 hours or so. It's amazing. When you wipe it off all of the goo comes off with the gel, it doesn't smell too bad but you need to be very careful with it.

... or you call out Ovenu who will do it for you and make it look brand new. It's honestly, genuinely worth every penny. (And no, I don't work for them!)

I put them in an oven pride bag with the liquid.

Oven Pride which sounds similar is about £4 and is also very good.

I put my racks in the dishwasher and take them out as soon as the cycle had finished they are still steaming and it usually wipes off.
