Potty training help

It's day 1 for my son who is 2 years 8months. So far no wees on the potty. Just 2 on the floor. He doesn't seem to like sitting on the potty so how do I encourage it? Or do I just say nothing until he uses it? When should I expect to see him try? I have a 5 year old so I've done it before but they are so different!

Try the toilet, non of mine liked the potty.

Yup I had a nice padded seat for the loo. Much nicer for all concerned and a step with a box type lid. Also I had activités in the box bit so they weren't in a hurry to get off.

He seems to hate both the potty and toilet. Almost like he's scared of it.
