Are there any Local Authority Occupational Therapists out there?

I am asking OTs who assess for adaptations and equipment within the home. My question is what OTs assess for and what do assistants assess for in your local authority?

To give a bit of background of why I am asking, I am a qualified OT, but have not practiced for some time. I am hoping to re-register and need to update my knowledge and skills. With this aim in mind, I am currently working as an OT assistant.

In my job as an OT assistant, I have been assessing mainly for stairlifts and level access showers, with the odd extension (shower rooms) and ramps thrown in.

Would this be OT work in your authority or an OT assistant work? I am trying to work out how much of my current work experience can be used as evidence that I have updated my OT skills, to enable me to re-register as an OT.

Thanks to anyone who replies.
