Help! Failed to book Natural History Museum entry ticket and none left :-(

Hello, partner is taking our 4 year old to London to the Natural History Museum tomorrow but forgot to book a ticket and none are left. They will now try to go to the Transport Museum instead, but child was promised dinosaurs so will be disappointed. Is anyone aware of any other place in central London for something dinosaur related? Thank you!

It was just out on the street, not far from the Apple store.

We had booked tickets for 11 yesterday op and there wasn't a queue for tickets so go early. By the time we came out the queue for tickets looked horrific!

I just booked tickets online for today, no mention of being sold out so try again so if it's telling you none left maybe give them a call and see if they can sort it over the phone ☺️

If you become a member of the NHM you can walk straight in whenever you like. You don't even need to join the queue for people who have booked tickets. Plus you get access to a private cafe and library area (with lots of children's books) so you can escape the crowds (which can be intense on weekends and during school holidays) and you don't need to book or pay for special exhibitions. I think you can get a one adult family membership for around £70, which is a lot, but it is a guaranteed fix for your problem and you would be able to use it again throughout the year. You can become a member online in about 2 mins. The NHM won't be able to issue you with a membership card before you arrive, but you can just show them the membership confirmation email on your phone.

Hi everyone, the happy adventurers are now home and had a great day. They started at the Transport Museum which wasn't as highly rated by child as expected (he loves the toy train from the museum shop though), so they then went to the NHM and thanks to a super kind mumsnetter they got in without queueing and got to see Dippy. Child is still hyper from all the experience, thank you so much everyone!

If you want to take him at Christmas to see the lights & see a museum then book tickets now.

Hi Enigma it was me who helped last time but was only possible because I had tickets I wasn’t using. Sadly no special powers! I imagine there may be spaces with a wait.
