100 year plan - politics

I know that China is not a democracy and is flawed in many ways. However they have 100 year plan and regularly update their 10 year plans.

Here we don't know where we are going from Tuesday to Tuesday, wouldn't it be amazing if there could be a cross government committee to agree a 25 year plan for important issues such as energy, environment, housing, food safety and health. Just so we all know what the goals are and not what suits the current government.

I would vote for any party who put this as top of the agenda for the country.

I absolutely agree with you.

Wow what a refreshing positive post, definitely agree with you, this should be standard. Every government only ever seems to govern with their eye on the next election and rarely ever beyond that!

Whole. Heartedly. Agree.

I can't see how we can move forward if we are flick flacking through political agendas without a common goal.

That would be far too sensible OP!

But yes completely agree. How we can purport to run a country with a max 4 year outlook I don't know.

What I don't understand why people aren't more outraged there isn't a plan. Not a promise to get them into no 10.

Europe will be dead in the water if this continues
