This is the second time its happened, out of nowhere, felt a twinge and then a wave of excruciating pain, nothing it comfortable, lying flat eases it a bit, but cant move while im lying down or its excruciating again.

Last time it happened after a day or so i went to a and e as it wasnt easing, they ruled out anything serious and gave me naproxen, saying it seemed muscle related rather than nerve.

But its happened again. Exactly the same. Does this indicate that its likely to be a trapped nerve or similar? Plan is to ride it out, and when it starts to ease get a doctors appointment to investigate further. Surely two episodes will warrant a bit more investigation?

I've had back issues for about 15 years ranging from twinges to muscles spasms that leave me unable to walk. You need physiotherapy and if you stick to it and look after your back it should stop. Mine has been worse this year , I've had about 5/6 episodes, GP has put me on wait list for an osteopath and I've had an X-ray which was clear.
