Insomnia after medical procedure yesterday

I had a procedure under sedation yesterday and went to bed as usual but after 1 hour woke up and I can’t sleep ??? Is it because of the sedation ? Do I just need to put up with it tonight? I felt so exhausted yest aft I thought I’d sleep all night and need a lie in !!!!

I don’t know what to do as never experienced this before . Any tips to sleep (I’ve not been on phone at all till now but got so fed up)

Get up and go to another room for half an hour to an hour. I try having a herbal or decaf tea and watch something dull on TV for an hour with the light turned low. Reading a book might be worth a try too. Then head back to bed to try again.
This is probably rubbish advice but it works for me sometimes.

Thanks I will try I can only assume sleeping in the day via sedation (even though it wasn’t for that long!) has somehow messed up my sleeping !!!
