If no money exchanged, do you have to declare a claim?

Trying to sort out some car insurance. Accident a few years ago but not at fault. Outcome of the claim was no money exchanged as self repaired, was to,d would have no effect on future policies. Question is, do you still have to declare a claim which didn't end up being a claim as no money exchange?

Yes because you are declaring an incident not the cost.

Yes. And the insurance is usually clear that it wants the incidents recorded, regardless of cost or fault.
