Does anyone remember a flat, round, red lollipop with sherbet inside it ? It was in a clear wrapper. I think it was cherry flavoured.
I used to love them 🍭

I remember a cherry lolly that you dipped into a bag of sherbet - Dip Dabs - but I don't remember a sherbet filled one - sounds nice though! Oh, for the days before sherbet gave me heartburn for a week!

KangarooKenny · 25/10/2022 18:08

No, it’s not the Dib-DAB.
This one had a clear wrapper so I wonder if it came in a multi pack

I saw Sherbet Dib Daps in Sainsbury's today, AnApparition. 40p for a bag.

When I was a child, it was liquorice rather than a lolly to dip in, so I never had them as I didn't like liquorice!

40p ... I used to pay 7p 😁

Are you not mixing up the sherbert fountain that had a piece of liquorice ,and Dib Dabs that I think have always had a lolly?

Oooh! Maybe I am! I am thinking of a yellow tube, with red writing, and a piece of liquorice coming out of the top. Maybe it was a Sherbert Fountain rather than a Dib Dab!

I remember the flat fruit lollipops so much safer than the spherical choking hazard ones. Are they still made/sold ?I saw the nurse on channel 5s The House across the street give one to her little patient last week.

Yes that's the fountain 🤣

Yes, x2boys is right, that would be the Sherbet Fountain in the tube, the Dip Dab was in a paper pouch.

Leeds2 · 25/10/2022 18:43

It was definitely the Dib Dabs I saw in Sainsbury's today. Red and yellow bag, with a lolly. Funny that I looked at them carefully, and then this thread appeared!

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 25/10/2022 18:45

And there was also the Double Dip (two flavours) that came with the hard Swizzelstick

Pieceofpurplesky · 25/10/2022 18:46

I swear they were dib dabs and not dip dabs! I remember sherbet pip lollies that were red and yellow with fizzy stuff in the middle. If you made a hole you could suck the fizz out!

I've seen the dip dab/dib dab question raised on 'Mandela Effect' discussions. People remember it differently.

Was that the one with orange and lemon dips - I really disliked that one, it wasn't lovely and soft like the Dip Dab or Fountain.

Also remember one that I think was branded for the character 'Bananaman' that had a banana shaped and flavoured dipper. I ignored it and ate it with my fingers as I hate bananas!

VenusClapTrap · 25/10/2022 19:30

I definitely remember round flat lollies in clear wrappers. Once you’d sucked them to the perfect size, they would lock onto the roof of your mouth like a sucker and be impossible to get off. I used to do that deliberately, and I can remember being told off for it while dribbling, because I couldn’t shut my mouth any more, because of the stick, until the whole thing had dissolved. 😂

Maybe ,I think preferred Dip Dabs ,my mum used to sherbert, Kayli ,is there a difference?

But surely it's Dip Dab, because... that's what they're called! 🤣

catinboots123 · 25/10/2022 20:02

I used to love a toffee lolly

Twawmyarse · 25/10/2022 20:06

It’s DIP dab. I remember the flat lollies with sherbet in but i don’t think they had a name - they were just cheapo generic ones in a clear packet I think?
