Best mattress topper

I bought a new bed and mattress a year ogoand have been suffering chronic back problems since. It has just occurred to me that the mattress which I find too hard may be helping to cause this. I don't know whether to buy a new mattress or a topper. The sheet barely goes on the mattress as it it and a topper wouldn't help. I am looking for something very supportive for hips and back which will work on a hard divan base. Preferably not full of chemicals and heavy metals. I have looked at a range online but its very confusing.

Recommendations and advice welcome.

To be honest, a mattress topper is a mattress topper as far as I am concerned, and I just went onto Amazon and bought a couple that seemed reasonably priced.

But if you are looking for something more "natural" and chemical-free, you could look at this website, which came up when I googled "organic cotton mattress topper" (it's wool but anyway): www.thewoolroom.com/bedding/wool-mattress-toppers/?pk_campaign=paperplanes&dm_i=4YSC,L9EB,4WBN03,2JVJ8,1&gclid=6ab95d76571d1810ed693e21fd2603b3&gclsrc=3p.ds&msclkid=6ab95d76571d1810ed693e21fd2603b3&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Woolroom-UK-DSA-Toppers-G14642716527&utm_term=%2Fbedding%2Fwool-mattress-toppers&utm_content=DSA-Toppers

Thanks these look like good options.

I ordered the Panda topper and sent it back after a couple of nights - I thought it was The One in the first five minutes but it somehow made things worse. and yes, hot, but not as hot as other memory foam.
i will say that the Panda customer service was excellent and they took it back, aside from stuffing it into some binbags with a label stuck on, they came and collected on a date convenient to me blah blah.

next stop is a wool topper. I need a new mattress really but the one I have is so pricy that I can’t bear to get rid ! Also too firm. More pillows has helped me a bit though. And learning to sleep on my back.
