Can’t seem to sleep tonight. No idea why. Anyone in a similar boat?

Coffee break, gasping !. Been on "nights" for bloody ages but this is my last shift. It's been manic all night, still got that metallic smell of blood in my nose.

Whoever invented industrial-strength black coffee has my undying gratitude.

Full of cold and drinking lots of fluids, up for a wee and now lay here feeling fuzzy headed. Also niggling worries re aging parents and more drama they’ve had this week.

@MrsTopaz how about a 'festival' in a wood, doesn't need to be summer! Get a Bluetooth speaker, make a fire, toast marshmallows, put up some bunting. You could even camp out there

Me, worrying about DS. Escalation in rude and defiant behaviour, I'm probably overthinking it but he is being complete arse. He's 15 so some of it is to be expected but we have just been having a few months of relatively calm time where DS has been attending school, coming home when arranged and generally managing to follow basic rules such as not smoking weed inside. He's adopted so this time of year around his birthday is always hard and he has such a lot of past trauma to work through but the slip in behaviour worries me as we have had some very dark and difficult times as a family and I don't want to go back there.

Many years ago, I had a Dr friend when I was nursing and her order at the entrance coffee shop was known as a ‘Gillian’ and consisted of 4x double shot espresso extra hot. Would have floored anyone else with a caffeine overload but made her slightly perky 🤣🤣

My Yr7 niece is staying with us and she says this would appeal to her!!
