The dishwasher downstairs is making a sound like a meditating Buddhist monk. Seriously, it's "omming" at me.

LOL mine sounds like one of those old-fashioned push-me pull-you carpet sweepers when he's stressed. Or some sort of yak. I recommend earplugs.

You need silicone earplugs from Earthub. They sell them at Tesco. I have an 8 week old baby who chats all night to the left of me, and a husband who snores like a plane taking off to the right. They're a godsend. Weirdly can still hear the important noises baby makes but all other sound is blissfully silenced!

I could nick DS's ear defenders but I doubt they're very comfortable. Could grab my air pods and listen to an audio book but I'm worried I'd fall asleep with them in and break them. Don't have any ear plugs.

I'm mostly used to DH's snoring - although he's really going for it tonight and is one of those who will go quiet for a bit, then, just as you're dropping off into a relieved slumber, suddenly let out a massive snortle and start up again.

But whyyyyyyy is the dishwasher making that noise??! It never has before. I actually had to get up and investigate to find out where it was coming from. I was slightly worried it was going to be aliens, so peculiar is the noise.

I've turned the bloody thing off. That's one noise dealt with...🤨

That snoring bastard got up at 5.15 for work and turned the bloody mad monk back on again.

I've been awake ever since so think I've managed about 4 hours sleep. How can I punish him??!

You NEED a eye mask with built in headphones. It’s like a thick hair and that you can pull down over your eyes (if you like dark) but there are small headphones built in.

I probably do! Off to Amazon I go.

To make matters worse, when I complained to DH, he said "I know how you feel, I hardly slept either."

Oh @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal i stand in solidarity. DH has been known to tell me ‘I wasn’t snoring’ when I elbow him. Why on Earth would I be awake and nudging him if he wasn’t snoring?!?!
