How do you pronounce Louisville?

I think I’ve been pronouncing it wrong - not that it comes up that often but still.

Its a French place name.

I’ve been to the Louisville in Kentucky and heard the locals…so that’s what mine is based on.

I'd pronounce it Lou ee ville but I'd take a guess that in Kentucky they might sort of swallow the middle vowel

The people who live in Louiseville Kentucky pronounce it more like Loor - ville. Weird I know. The people not from there or who don't know say Looey - Ville

I had no idea it was pronounced any other way. Maybe it’s a local thing.

The arch there is an experience I do not ever want to repeat. Genuinely terrifying.

I was intrigued (maybe moreso because of the rude PP) ... can't see what you're referring to, was it the arch in St Louis not Louisville maybe?

The little cabins you go up in wobble alarmingly and you can see the inside of the arch as you ascend then the sway as you descend is really concerning. The arch itself sways when you’re at the top. It’s very high!

There was a film set there, can't remember it's name but I think it had Kirsten Dunst in it. The only thing I remember is that they pronounced the name really oddly, like
