Bottomless pit during period

Is anyone else the same?

My period arrived this morning a full 13 days early and I’ve been famished all day despite eating loads.

So far I’ve eaten-

Bowl of porridge with banana and cinnamon
Three Digestive biscuits with brie.

A tomato and cheese sandwich.
A bowl of vegetable soup.
An apple.
Big handful of walnuts.
Bag of Popchips
Bag of Hula Hoops
Slice of brown bread with butter and jam.
A small Dairy Milk from a multipack.
Three slices of ham eaten directly from the packet while standing in front of the fridge.

We usually eat dinner at about 7pm but I’m here now trying to stop myself from having it now- having chicken and vegetable stir fry with rice.

There’s a tub of Celebrations that I added to my trolley at the weekend thinking I’d hang on to them for Christmas. They’ll not see morning the way things are going.

I can totally relate. I came on my period today and I’ve eaten a long list of stuff, and will be having pizza for dinner.

You burn an additional 200-300 calories a day when you're on your period so I wouldn't worry about it! my list looks a lot more calorific than yours...

You need to eat more protein earlier in the day, that’s why you’re so hungry.

I always get starving just before my period. I think there’s some science that you do use more calories when it’s the time of the month though. If it’s only a day or two, just cut back when you’re a bit less starving.

Yes yes yes and the worst thing for me is my periods are very light to nothing due to having the Mirena coil so barely see any actual blood (sorry tmi) but I still get the period symptoms and the main one is literally never feeling full, it's also increased anxiety, not wanting to go out and being obsessive over housework. So these are my clues rather than much of an actual physical period!

but yes I never feel full for a few days of the month!

The one about housework is funny. I become obsessed with skincare! My period can be quite irregular but an overwhelming urge to apply all sorts or lotions and potions is a sure sign that it’s about to arrive.

Digestives with Brie is genius! I'm like this two days before. Grumpy and ravenous.
