Talking about Diwali on the phone with my sister and discussing what we did at primary school 25 years ago for festivals of various religions/cultures …
I very vaguely remember doing a festival once at school where we were given a tree branch to decorate with pink tissue paper to look like cherry blossom and made it to carry over it over one shoulder . I think there was a song too .
But I can’t think what it could have been for . It would have been about springtime, north east Scotland, about 1996 .
I keep thinking it was for some sort of religious festival - there was something important about it - but genuinely can’t think what! I can’t find anything online that even vaguely matches .
I remember my mum keeping the branch for years too . I think it was only chucked out when we eventually moved house .
wondering if anyone has any ideas? Maybe just something my teacher came up with herself !!
