Does anyone have any experience of learning to handwrite much faster?
DS is 18 and in his A level year. He's very academic with high grade aspirations.
However... since first starting school, he has found physical handwriting really difficult. Until he was in about Year 3 or 4, his writing was very wobbly and poorly formed, with uneven pressure on the page. It improved over the years and is now by and large neat and perfectly legible, albeit not pretty to look at. He also holds his pen in the most peculiar way imaginable.
The huge problem is that he finds it really difficult to write at speed and so seldom finishes an exam paper. It's incredibly frustrating for him because he's really confident with the answers but just can't get them down in time. As we get closer to crunch time, this is causing more and more stress.
I've checked out the regulations for extra time and he doesn't come near to qualifying on any grounds.
Has anyone successfully taught themselves to write faster and if so, how?
All helpful and constructive suggestions gratefully received!
