Dcs 18th birthday in December - how to celebrate?

Obviously some friends will still be 17, so venues and licencing will bot he an option.

DC "doesn't know" what they want to do to celebrate but we can't let the occasion slide without anything happening.

A house party won't work due to time of year.

Suggestions?

One of me dc didn't want to do anything, and the other 2 did have parties (as in, in a hall, with music and dancing and buffet etc). Very few of any of their friends did.
I mean, most of dc 3's friends didn't have their 18th until COVID started, so that was scuppered, but many of dcs 1 and 2 friends went for a meal with their friends.
I presume, separately, they probably did things with wider family too, but obviously I'm not privy to that.
