Estate agents

We are thinking about moving house, so we need to get our place valued. I have called a few estate agents and when I mentioned to one that I was going to get some people to do valuations,
his reply was '' what do you mean people? Do you mean more than 1 estate agent?''
He then followed it up with an email asking me to send in proof of ID and to sign up to their ts and cs .

I havent sold a house in 19 years...its still the done thing to get 3,4,5 valuations isnt it???

I have made a block of bookings for Wednesday, all with about 40 mins per appointment so they can look around and then I can get the next one in..

I presumed that was normal. Am I making an error? Am I going to have a load of pissed off estate agents?

Thanks

I haven't bought and sold for about the same time as you, but I wouldn't consider signing a contract for £££ without getting quotes from a few companies either.

I’m on the market just now and was encouraged by ALL estate agents I spoke to to get at least 3 out to value before deciding. Nope this is still normal x

Totally normal, do not sign until you've met them all and decide who will best suit you. (You will then only be able to commit to one unless you pay higher fees) Tell them that and it's up to them if they come out and are in consideration.
