Black ‘spots’ on labia minora

A few days ago I noticed one black 'mole' on my labia minora (I wiped and it felt more raised which caused me to investigate further). I pinched it and blood came out so I thought it was some kind of friction blood blister?. I've looked again today and the black spot is still there and there are a few other smaller patches near it.

I'm worrying that there is more to it than just a mole. Has anyone had a similar experience or can offer reassurance?

Ugh think I have lichen sclerosis, well pretty sure because I was in a right state and steroid cream seems to subdue it. I think you would know if you had that though, the itching is intense.

I have some of those, OP, and got them checked out by my doctor. They are harmless and completely normal.

@Californiabound yes could be maybe.. it could be a number of things I guess the itching for me gets intense to the point the skin tears inside and creates a open sore then won't heal.. looks almost like you can see the blood that's how open the sore is, it's not nice at all, I hate it I've bought Canesten cream and that seems to stop the itch atm.. but almost sure itl come back again if I don't put cream on every so often.. but then again I think we'll I shouldn't have to live like this cream on everyday all day there must be an alternative 🤔 Canesten cream so expensive cost like £15 for a small tube in asda.. but hopefully wil get checked if my dr gives me an appointment soon x

@GroanWoman oh right are yours also under the skin the black dots.. ? Sometimes when I've tried to take a picture but it's very hard as the position of them sometimes they look black and sometimes purple.. hmm no idea.. I hope they normal whatever I have x

Hey update I went to see my Dr today she says she thinks it could be petechiae rash the two black dots she couldn't see them at first and kept saying there is nothing here that looks concerning at all.. if they was to change is size or anything that's something to look out for but she says they might go on there own.. for the itching she wasn't concerned again said to youse the creams she gave me could be lichen but if it was its the same method creams and that's it..she just said basically if I still have concerns about it to see the vulvar clinic but she says she's almost certain no worry for concern.. so I'm more happy about that she says there is no sores there atm.. so everything looks OK and to just put the creams on when itchy..

@Mumzy9311hi, any new developments for you? I am waiting currently to get scheduled with an oncologist gynocologist to get checked out. I’ve had on and off again itching for a while now and have used steroid cream from my GYN as needed. It’s been at bay for a bit now but just got a pin head sized under the skin blackish/bluish colored spot almost to crease of leg but still on vulva. I’m fair skinned and you can see a lot of my veins on my groin area in both sides and I’m hoping this is just a part of a vein showing there but also very concerned since I’ve had the itching off and on. It is much better than it was and only have some now on one side that is very minimal now. I have had a normal pap for 8 years or more but after researching this I started thinking it could be VIN or vulva cancer of some sort. I don’t have any knots anywhere or open sores but still really paranoid at this point. Hope to hear back from you! Thanks so much!

@GreenSpace00 i just realized you were original poster. Did you get any insight about your spot?

Glitterworld · 06/03/2025 00:48

Before I go to the doctors could anyone tell me if they’ve had this before or what it could be? It’s a black slightly raised spot on the outside of my privates no pain unless wipe over it had it for coming up to a month now and I’m just feeling scared to go to the doctors
