Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm enjoying the quiet, with my second cuppa of the day. The only sounds atm are the rain pouring down & the fridge humming to itself.

I need to wash some tea towels and dish cloths shortly, and will probably iron the school shirts so they're done and out of the way ready for next week.

I did want to walk down to Lidl for pumpkins but not sure I want to in this rain so might spend the day mooching instead. I have plenty of bits to do for work, and I want to carry on with the church for my crochet village.

I expect dd1 will sleep a while longer after we were out at a gig last night then got the last bus home, and dd2 will probably surface soon-ish for tea and toast.

No idea what's for tea yet - I forgot to get something out to defrost last night 🤷‍♀️

Currently on the couch with tea and blankets, debating a hot cross bun, DC are playing or asleep depending on ages 🤣

We are having a cosy pottering morning, I need to list some clothes to sell and also get a charity bag together.

Swimming this afternoon for all. Lasagne and brocolli for dinner, with random roast potatoes that need eating so carb central here! Also going to make.an apple and plum crumble to make the most of the oven being on.

Early night hopefully really want to start my new book in bed this evening.

Just woke up. Had a very long week! (Work Saturdays too) and a birthday party last night.
Me and DS watching cartoons waiting for our maccys breakfast to arrive. Can't see my arse moving from this sofa today tbh 😂

My 11 year old had a sleepover last night so feeling pretty tired.

7 year old wants to go into town but currently tipping it down so not keen. We have booked cinema later to see Lyle lyle crocodile.

We have just finished breakfast and cleared up, so I'm sat scrolling through here while my husband is pottering around his mancave.
He will be making lunch later and then we're visiting my son and d.i l with treats for the grandchildren.

Morning @lucysmam . I’m enjoying a coffee and the sound of rain plus the sound of the gammon joint bubbling on the stove. My DPs are coming for lunch.

DS is getting ready to leave for work, DD is still in bed and DH is doing work on our bathroom that he is renovating. DDog is sulking about the rain and DCat is looking smug!

I was going to have a nice quiet day just me and the dog, but DH and adult sons have decided not to go to the football match at Tottenham, we have no food in. Adult son is buying us all a takeaway. I’ve got so much washing needing to be done, but no tumble dryer. Dog has been for a walk in the pouring rain, now back for a cup of coffee and a read of the Sunday papers.

Going to try and get the dog to go out for a wee in this terrible rain!
It woke me up a couple of times in the night.

Got to sort DS2 sixth form application today and then have some work to do as I can never get it done in the week as I am constantly interrupted.
I'm annoyed to do this but don't want the anxiety of going to bed with it not finished 😫

Will have a look at the Christmas thread later and maybe get a couple more presents,feel happy I am so far ahead with my shopping this year as I have so many to buy for.

Went to Aldi yesterday and managed to do a whole shop,they have really increased their range and have found some great "swops"

Good job I don't have to go out today as the forecast is rain all day.

Still in PJs as I'm not well at the moment. Slow cooker will go on later.

Kids are all up (they're early birds), DH is in bed as he got stuck in London overnight due to power failures.

At a bit of a loose end.

Normally go to church, but there is no church today. Couldnt quite work up enough enthusiasm to go to a different one.

Thought about any sick people to visit. Not many people sick at the moment which is good.

May go for a bit of a walk.

I am still in bed as I have been up coughing most of the night. The rain is pattering on the window and I am reading. I am very chilled!

Once I get dressed I've got 3 Christmas cakes to bake. So house will smell lovely.

Finish washing and drying household work uniforms

The dog won't even take a piss outside so no chance of taking the mutt for a walk.

Need Xmas wrapping paper and cello tape.

It's my sons 26th bday today. He's going out for a meal with friends so egg and bacon butties for tea.

Waiting for someone to pick up something via Freecycle. Once they've been, I can go down the garden and mess about with potting up plants etc as no other interruptions are expected today.

Sitting in a van in the New Forest having my second cuppa of the day. Feeling shattered as there was a thunderstorm and heavy rain last night which was very noisy due to being inside a metal box! Also the dog was absolutely terrified which didn't help (poor lass).

Zilch today as yesterday was so busy!
Just finished cleaning the house, a big clean so that next weekend I should only need to zip rou d before 19 children descend on me for a Halloween party!

Currently laid on the sofa on MN while the kids are on their iPads, DH is at work and meant to be taking DS for his hair cutting, but with the weather that may get put off until Thursday.

Just about to make the kids an early lunch and get the steaks out for tea, while I wait for the dryer to finish.

Ill DH still asleep. Ill 3 year old to entertain. Weve got bread proving, played the same game 8 times. Gawping at the current political insanity on the radio. I’m going to make some soup and brownies. I’ve got a whole load of washing on the line that’s getting battered to crap by the torrential storms, couldn’t take it in last night as was in urgent care with DD. I’m tired, it was a horribly late night and I’m worried about DD and DH. Making food is my happy place!

Watching peppa pig and enjoying time with my toddler. DH still asleep (he gave me a lie in yesterday). It's raining so no plans for the day.

Raining heavily here. Enjoying a quiet ish hour while my toddler naps. Sons, 11 and 14, sat on devices with me in the living room intermittently singing.
Did all the washing yesterday which is filling the kitchen. Have a Sunday dinner to cook later then collecting my 2 step sons from their mums this evening.
Having a film night with the boys. OH will be home around 10pm.
Tomorrow morning we get married 😮 Very excited, a little stressed. Hoping this rain stops for a little while.

Laundry, Ironing, swimming and working on a report to get ahead. Probably a pilates workout on ifit as I'm trying to increase my daily exercise, I'm recovering from an injury so my options are limited.

Cooking a lamb tagine for 6 which = five portions for the freezer.

I've been swimming at a local - and very beautiful - private pool which is cheaper than the local leisure centre. Took DS and his best friend. We then had bananas, pain au chocolat and hot drinks in the car whilst watching the pouring rain and listening to You're Dead To Me. We are at home now, I'm having a bath and DS is building Lego. DD is still asleep - late night - and so is DH (on nights). We are having homemade leek and potato soup and crusty rolls for lunch and then DS is going to aforementioned friend's for a sleepover. DD and I will go for a run in the rain and then we are going to do a jigsaw and Christmas crafts. Pork already in the slow cooker for dinner.

Then we are heading out for a walk in our local nature reserve.

We have water proof gear so rain is not an issue

I'm nursing a hangover. Went out with friends and ended up dancing. I have an entry stamp on the back of my hand! Got in about 2, so slow start today. Once I'm more with it, cleaning and prep for work tomorrow.

Not much so far. DD1 has been sick out of the blue so dealt with that. Stripped roast chicken carcass from yesterday and put bones on to make stock. Planning pumpkin carving, and looking through clothes I’ve ordered for DD (she is fussy so over half of it will go back…). Later maybe make cheese scones with DD1 and DH take DD2 out as she’s 7 and climbs the walls if in all day.
