Energy Bill Support Scheme - Prepayment Metre - Anyone had it?

Not sure if I have posted on the correct forum so apologies.

Has anyone on a prepayment metre had there £66 for October?

I have been told I will get a voucher through the post but on the 22nd of the month and still nothing.

My electricity has massively increased since 1st October (like everyone else's) so could be doing with it

Bumping as I’m also curious - we’re in a rental too so the provider doesn’t even have our contact details, just the LL’s. Have asked the LL if they received anything but haven’t heard back yet

Same situation as me. I am wondering if it will go to the landlord in the first instance or does it go to the address?

Good question; the gov.uk guidance makes it sound like the energy providers will be in touch with the account holders - which is the LL in our case (but we pay for electricity by cash, either through the meter or by paying our property manager who then tops it up).

I really hope the LL will send us the voucher, it would be really bad form not to! Luckily we’re moving to our own flat next month, so should get the rebates on our new account. It’s a shame though that those with prepayment meters need to fight for it - from what I know it’s usually HA or private tenants who have these, or people who have been in debt to the energy company, so probably those who’d need the rebate the most…

I am with edf and haven’t had my voucher yet for October. On messaging I’m told it’s because of the postal strike and to wait longer OR I can have them cancelled and reissued which would take 4 weeks ... so yeah. That’s great.

Any luck OP? We’ve moved house now and thankfully have an account with BG for electricity, so I’m hoping they’ll just send anything from November onwards to our bank account. It’s annoying that our landlord didn’t pass on the October payment though!

Hereforit2022 · 09/11/2022 06:12

Still nothing from me yesterday spent 3 hours on the phone to them for them to tell me someone would call me back. They didn't. At my wit's end with it now. I am actually moving house soon also so looks like I will probably miss out on it which is infuriating

Make a formal complaint. It was supposed to be sorted 1st of each month. Involve your MP too.
