Just that really. I had a few of these as a child and just found this one at my MIL’s house. Does anyone know them?

That is Fabuland made by Lego.
Was available from 1979 - 1989.

PhotoDad · 22/10/2022 17:51

Oooh! I half remember those and did some googling. Is it Fabuland?

Mol1628 · 22/10/2022 17:51

Fabuland. I have loads in the loft. Love it.

Needmorelego · 22/10/2022 17:54

@FrankTheThunderbird get it out the loft.....poor guys. Stuck up there in the dark.

Such a shame Fabuland was discontinued. I had the fairground set and the police car. Happy memories!

Needmorelego · 22/10/2022 18:00

@TooFewSpoons it has a bit of a cult following among Lego fans. There are some great bulids out there by fans. Have a Google.

Clevererthanyou · 22/10/2022 18:02

@Needmorelego Alone in the loft 🤣 it's thinking thoughts like that which has led to 30 soft toys in my bed (so none of them are left out).

TooFewSpoons · 22/10/2022 18:02

I still have a box of odd bits, but my older sister took the rest for her children while I was living away, and it got "lost".

Actually it might be out of the loft. It's at mum's house so I'm not sure. It was a while ago while we sorted it out. There were a lot of bricks "missing" because my brothers used to steal my bricks to replace their missing lego ones.

EndlessMagpies · 22/10/2022 18:06

We had a whole load of it at one time, Winnie the Pooh stuff, and some zoo animals as well, it was great.

BingoLingFucker · 22/10/2022 18:07

Wow the memories! 🥲

I had some of these as a child (a pig, a sheep and something else) and had completely forgotten about them. I was so obsessed with them!

FrankTheThunderbird · 22/10/2022 18:10

My brother had a book as well. Max (the mouse) and Bonnie (the bunny)
There was an elephant called Edward.
I think the hippo was called Hannah and she ran a flower shop.

I don't remember there ever being a Winnie The Pooh set.

WhiteFire · 22/10/2022 18:16

I had (well still have) the garage. Favourite toy ever.

Needmorelego · 22/10/2022 18:33

@FrankTheThunderbird there were some Mickey Mouse sets that came later that used Fabuland parts. The Winnie the Pooh was Duplo size I believe.
Among us Fabuland (obsessive) fans the Mickey Mouse stuff "does not count".

ADialgaAteMyDog · 22/10/2022 18:34

Love that stuff! Back when you could build stuff with arts and it wasn't all tiny fiddly specific pieces. Pet hate, as you can tell!

Ah right I see. Well I'd say (not that I'm an expert) that duplo sized things are... well... duplo.

Surely fabuland is specifically the fabuland characters?

DorritLittle · 22/10/2022 19:00

I still have my four original Fabuland figures. Then DS found a sandwich bag filled with the others in a charity shop for about £2. Love them.

Needmorelego · 22/10/2022 19:02

@FrankTheThunderbird yes Fabuland is just Fabuland 🤣 but cos the Mickey sets were on the same scale and used Fabuland parts (like the doors and windows etc) they sometimes get mixed in. Which is wrong and should be illegal...ha ha.

WhiteFire · 22/10/2022 22:25

Fabuland was based on original Lego bricks, with the figures being different.

I would dig it out, play with it and take photos but I am away so can't. How fab(uland) is this though.
