Hot packed lunch ideas for thermos pot

My teens have decided they would prefer hot packed lunch to sandwiches now it's colder. We sometimes do pasta and pesto or similar but I would love some other ideas. My son is actually offering to cook some stuff at the weekend that they can rehear and put in their thermos pots in the morning!

Following for ideas we usually just do pasta, rice, noodles and soup

We do soup, leftover curry and rice (rice at the bottom, curry on top), Dahl, ramen, risotto, Chinese and rice, home made Singapore noodles or chow mein. My DS is a total foodie.

Make sure you heat the thermos with hot water and the food is burning hot when you put it in.

Chilli, spaghetti bolognaise,

Dal and rice? Any curry would probably have a high enough water content to stay hot. Though I'd be tempted to delegate to your sob, especially as it sounds like something he's invested in anyway.

Thanks some good ideas here.

It will definitely be DS (and hopefully DD) who prep all this.

Also, things don't actually NEED to be liquid if a) they taste ok warm but not volcanic & b) you have a wide mouthed flask.

Dc like sambousak, spring rolls etc cooked in the morning in the air fryer.

Mine just compete for leftovers so curry, bolognase or whatever is going spare really.

We almost never have leftovers as we just cook enough for 4 so it needs to be things made for lunch. I don't want to make extra for dinner and just give them the same the next day really.
