Any medics around? Are these cluster headaches or something more sinister?

Last Tuesday I had a very sudden, stabbing pain in my head. Directly above my right eye inside my brain. As soon as it started I lost consciousness for a time (I’m not sure) and when I woke up again I immediately stood up and had to repeatedly tell myself not to die. It was an immediate ‘this is very, very bad’ feeling.

I had a couple of more episodes of very strong dizziness/trying to stay awake and vomited once on the way to hospital.

When in hospital I had a ct and a lumbar puncture - both clear.

Yesterday I had another episode - exact same onset - sudden stabby pain in the same place and instantly feeling a massive rush and dizziness. This time wasn’t as bad because I could talk myself through it and didn’t panic as much which I think helped. I spoke to my GP who thinks it’s a cluster headache with weird presentation but I’m still worrying! The drs at hospital gave no reason for it, just wasn’t going to kill me imminently!

I have had cluster headache and ice-pick headaches. I have also had migraine and atypical migraine which presented like stroke.
I have never had symptoms like you are describing.

but presumably if it was something sinister it would have showed up on the cat scan?

Anything sinister would show up on CT-MRI. that’s how my brain tumour was diagnosed.
