Constantly being suspended on Facebook group šŸ¤”

SpinningFloppa · 21/10/2022 20:01

I’m on a Facebook group for single parents, today someone asked a question about dating again saying she was a
lone parent so would only be able to have people round her house, I said something about I would be worried about attracting men only coming round for one thing and the admin have suspended me from commenting for a week! Is this normal for Facebook groups? On this Facebook group I feel like I can’t say anything without being suspended! It’s like you are not allowed to have an opinion. Did I say something wrong to be suspended for a week?

I would say it is normal. From bitter experience, people who admin FB groups are on a power trip.

girlmom21 · 21/10/2022 20:05

Yeah massive power trip. They'll probably say something ridiculous like you berating people for their parenting choices.

Smoem · 21/10/2022 20:05

Can you ask the administrator what you’ve said wrong? And what kind of answer they’d prefer?

Isaidnoalready · 21/10/2022 20:05

Join another group

Spuk is one they have a social group a dating group and a support group too

SpinningFloppa · 21/10/2022 20:05

Seems to be the case, I was previously blocked from commenting because I made a post about my ex not having contact with our children and someone asked me if I had asked him if he wanted contacted and I said no of course I haven’t asked him it’s not my job to and I was blocked again then and post deleted šŸ¤¦šŸ»

Is the admin a man? Sounds like anything you post that might be honest about men is getting you suspended.

Just leave the group šŸ¤”doesnt sound like a good fit.

SpinningFloppa · 21/10/2022 20:12

The post was something along they lines of ā€œI’m with my daughter 6 days a week, so I don’t have much free time be honest if you was a man would you be happy only sitting in watching Netflix and not going out or doing things I’m worried most guys would get boredā€ I commented saying I would be worried it would attract guys only after one thing (Netflix and chill!) I was saying that’s what I would be worried about as she said she was looking for a serious relationship

I follow a few pages which share true crime/murder things and dating conversations etc. The page admins have to use things like [redacted gender] rather than men because if they use the word men along with a disparaging word eg ā€˜she was raped by two men and then murdered’ ā€˜the rude man who messaged me’ they’re ā€˜zucced’ - the post is deleted/they’re put in ā€˜Facebook jail’.

SpinningFloppa · 21/10/2022 20:13

I would leave but I’ve had great support from there from other people it’s just a shame about the admin who seem to take offence to anything

There's a fine line between being a proper admin and removing offensive/troll posts, and removing posts that you personally disagree with. It appears that this admin person is unaware of the difference. I'd find another group if I were you.

Is he F4J? I've been heavily criticised for safeguarding the kids by them

Viviennemary · 21/10/2022 20:22

You were right. It would be most unwise to invite a man you met on the internet back to your house until you got to know him.

You can’t say that though because it’s misandry and not all men are like that šŸ™„

Ohhhhladz · 21/10/2022 20:25

You didn't say anything wrong; you didn't even say there was anything wrong with only wanting one thing, just that it was in conflict with what the OP said she was looking for. Giving good advice will be a fully lost art soon, with all these overgrown emotional toddlers stomping around.

It depends on the group but generally you are not allowed to say negative things about men (or that stupid people THINK is a negative thing about men). If you can get an answer about what you did wrong, it's usually just as sensible to report the mod to FB central for the exact same thing he used as an excuse to suspend/expel you.

SpinningFloppa · 21/10/2022 20:57

Well funnily enough he commented on the same post saying he would love that as he hates going out, yeah bet he would love it. šŸ™„ was only Pointing out it’s not a good idea if she’s looking for a relationship

Or for her own and her child's safety!

Can’t say anything like that as it’s ā€œparent shamingā€ šŸ˜
