Please could I have some advice from anyone that may have been through similar.
I am currently a joint tenant on a privately rented property with my ex partner.
I have two children and am on maternity leave at the moment (5 month old and 4 year old) I have enquired and can not find anywhere that would accept me for private renting (due to income on my own) I could possible pitch up on my mums sofa temporarily but she lives about 45 minutes away by car so I don’t really want to leave him with his dad full time and he is in school.
My plan would be to move his school once I find a permanent place to live.
long story short the council have refused me but haven’t given much of a reason other than I do not have a local connection BUT I have a local connection to where my mum lives as I have worked and lived there for 8 years. I do not have a “local connection” to where I am currently renting as I have only lived here for a year.
I have sent an email appealing the decision but I am not sure how successful I will be.
has anyone got any advice? The living situation is not ideal and taking a toll on me mentally but I don’t see a way out of it.
