United Utilities putting DD up

They want to put my DD up by £20pm yet I’m in credit, and have made efforts to reduce usage. Anyone else ?

You need to work out your actual usage. It will be more over the next 4-6 months just because of the time of year. If you know your actual usage, then phone them and have a discussion about a direct debit or ask them for a monthly bill and pay for what you actually use. They might out you on a higher tariff.

How often do you submit meter readings?

Monthly, and I catch used clean water to use as a flush. I’ve also cut down my number of showers.

I wondered if they are putting prices up as, I assume, they use electricity to move the water.
