Does anyone understand Twitter?

I've had my account for years and have always had the same sort of scrolling/liking/retweeting habits, nothing extreme.

First I got a message from Twitter on my account which said I was on a 3 day restriction but didn't explain why. I can't find a place to just ask them!

Then I scrolled through, liking the odd thing here and there, bit of gardening stuff, bit of politics blah blah. Tried to like a tweet by a mainstream politician and got this message

"This request looks like it might be automated. To protect our users from spam and other malicious activity, we can’t complete this action right now. Please try again later."

I am definitely human and have been on for over a decade all fine. Has someone maliciously reported me or something and how can I find out?

The first thing that springs to mind, are your likes, retweets or people you follow anything to do with the trans debate? Or anything else that could be deemed as controversial?

Do you ever actually tweet or just like and RT? How many RTs a day? Could they think you're a bot?

um, what was the tweet you wanted to like ? Is it possibly a politician who gets a lot of hate thrown at them?

I joined and a couple of days later got my account deleted for malicious activity. I’d only posted one thing and it was a photo of a cute animal.

I look at everything on Twitter & like plenty, but never been in Twitter jail. Am curious what triggers it, too.

hmmm yes the tweet was nicola sturgeon (i'm not especially a fan or even Scottish! it was just something she said about waiting for a permanent PM before she meets them or something, wasn't even about the SNP)

if your account was hijacked, you wouldn't be able to get into it would you? i dont know

i can get in it just fine and look around at stuff, i can press like on nondescript stuff e.g. look at this cute kitten or whatever
