Help! Expensive boots rubbing heels raw

I bought some boots last year and I’ve worn them all last season but they are still rubbing my heels raw! The only way I can wear them is with blister plasters.

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do that’s more permanent to solve the issue? Insoles? Heel shields of some sort? I’m flat footed if that makes any difference (I seem to get this a lot with shoes!)

I wish I hadn’t persevered with them but too late now and want to wear them!

Sorry socks not said!

Firstly, i agree with the cobler suggestion. I now own a pair of shoe stretchers (cheap off amazon) and can do this myself, but it should help. I just came on to ask if you're wearing the right socks? Some of my socks look great but really rub so i learned the shoe/boot required a different sock, and that sorted the problem.

@Nottodaty this sounds like me. But it’s almost as if shoes sit awkwardly on my heels - the hard bit sits in the wrong place if that makes sense

@dudsville good advice - probably not wearing the best socks! They are cushioned padded boots though not waking boots so I sort of expected normal thick socks would be ok. Though tried thin ones too and makes no difference. I think a cobbler may be the way to go if all else fails.

You can get thin adhesive stuff called ENGO patches, from amazon and others - very low friction, so that it doesn't cause blisters even when your foot rubs against it. You could stick that in the heels.

These are amazing, my DD wore these with new DM's, got them off Amazon.

Zinc oxide tape on the hot spot (the bit that gets blistered).

Years of using zinc oxide tape in the Army with long forced marches, carrying 25 kilos and army boots.

Never had a blister.

I smear the Vaseline on the shoe/boot where it rubs. The Compeed stick works better, use that on my feet, but it’s much more expensive than Vaseline.

I have these too, I had some loafers that shredded my feet, wore them on the school run with these silicone things a few times and now they're perfect!

Wax candle rubbed along the inside of the boot/shoe where it rubs. Never let me down yet.
