Good red wines at Morissons

I'm looking for recommendations of good red wines at Morissons (as that's my local supermarket). I want to try something new.

When we lived in the UK we found that most of their Californian reds were nice.

Not sure if they still offer a good selection though. Live in France now and we'd get drummed out of the community for asking for "foreign" wine at the Intermarche.

OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not far off 😆

Have you tried the Crimes range. They have pictures of convicts on the front. Some are on offer at Morrison's for £6 at the moment. Red and white. They are really nice. The only one we didn't like very much was one that had coffee in it!! The label looks like it's got a coffee cup stain on it. They are normally priced around £8-9.

Some of their own label stuff is ok for the price. I couldn't tell you exactly what, i usually buy whatever is on offer! 🍷

I've picked a good Douro from
Morrisons in the past!

I agree - the 19 Crimes range is delicious, especially when on offer as it is at moment. The standard price for the bottles is mostly around £10 so anything around £6 is a real treat.

I've just got some from Asda - £8 but on a 25% off offer so great value and so quaffable.

Also the YellowTail range if Morrison's do it. Fully price around £7 to 8 but usually at least one variety on offer at £6 or under. Shiraz and Merlot are particularly nice. Not keen on the Jammy Red - a bit too sweet for my taste

What do you like eating OP? It really does make a difficult to try and match the wine with the food.

I find this matching page from Berry Bros very helpful Link

Thanks for the suggestions! I got the crimes wine to try first.
Regarding what I eat, honestly, everything. That's why I usually buy some nice wines and then pair the food to them. 😂

😃We don't need food to go with our wines, quite happy to drink it on its own!
