Working more hours, tax credits

I work part time, I've been offered more hours at work but only on a temporary basis. So, if I do more hours for 3 months now, I assume my tax credits will go down next year? I kniw thys seems obvious, I just want to confirm with someone else who knows for sure.

Honestly I would ring up the HMRC tex credits helpline and go through it with them. It is a notoriously complex system.

It certainly used to be that you could ask for any reduction to be applied immediately rather than it being carried forward till the following year.

There's also the issue of whether you will be 'migrated' to UC before then.

Uc might be better for you then

In this scenario UC might work out better for you if you are renting. It’s calculated each month based on what you have earned rather than each year.

My earnings are usually static. I dobt have to accept the hours abd wondering if it will be more trouble than it's worth!
