I'm Being asked what I want. I love books and candles but not sure people will get me them and don't want to get random stuff with 50 on it.
So- what did you get that you loved ? Nothing super expensive please like a horse or car 😂😂

One friend bought me a buy a gift voucher and I chose to spend it on a spa day, that was amazing. Another gave me a £50 voucher for a really nice local restaurant. I also got champagne and a lovely candle. I think my favourite gift was some Crystal earrings. I also loved getting an electric toothbrush, I suggested this when someone asked what I wanted.
For my 40th my friends all chipped in a bought me a bread maker (I’d let my DH tell them I really wanted one) and that was a fantastic present.
So if you have a group of people that know each other then you could suggest a bigger thing.

My best friend bought me some Neal’s Yard Frankincense cleanser and nourishing cream. I’ve used it ever since. Practical but also luxurious.

Some of my friends clubbed together to buy bigger presents for my 50th, which was lovely. My school mum friends bought me vouchers for Space NK (my favourite make up shop). My work friends bought me a year's membership (four visits) at my favourite spa.

Some of my favourite individual presents were: a gorgeous floral print silk scarf, a large coloured glass 'bubble' vase, a bottle of Tiffany perfume (which I'd never worn or even smelt before), a lavender oil reed diffuser which looks beautiful by my bed and helps me sleep, and a newspaper from the day I was born.

All my 50th presents were surprises, so I was very fortunate to get such lovely things.

Spent a few days in Como with my partner. We watched a famous bike race and rode the route the day after. Weather that was week was beautiful (October). the race is The Race of the Falling Leaves (Il Lombardia) and Como is lovely. That was good enough for me. Didnt need a personal gift

I asked for little meet ups with friends , including cake and a walk. And meals out with family. Did a spa day with my oldest friend. Had a joint 90th birthday meal out with another friend who turned 40 around the same time. I’m not good with deciding on presents, and hate the thought that someone might waste their hard earned money, so it was the nicest, and most enjoyable way to see the people I care about, and celebrate several times! Work colleagues bought me an anti-aging facial! And it was wonderful!

For my 60th my son paid for me and DH to go to Bruges for 3 days. DH had his pressie very early as not 60 until 2 years. My dd gave me cream tea voucher for Kitty Cafe which I really loved. Other son bought me large comfortable camping chair with place for phone and drinks holder for when I go to watch Foster Son play cricket. These matches often take 6 hours so really need comfy seat.

One son and his (then) girlfriend got me a crystal vase. It's gorgeous. That was 13 years ago.
