The radio is on and Love is All Around is playing.

Over 26 years ago a woman I knew at playgroup was diagnosed with breast cancer.

She had 3 young dc and she seemed a lovely and friendly person.
I didn't know her very well but my last very vivid memory is of us parents waiting to pick our dc up from playgroup and she was stood watching her ds through the glass. I wondered what was going through her mind.
Unfortunately she died 3 weeks later and at her funeral they played Love is All Around, her favourite song.
We moved away soon after so I lost touch with mutual friends.
Everytime i hear this song i think of a woman I barely knew and wonder how her dc are.

I do have happy songs as well but Tracy I've never forgotten you.

Op that's lovely, im sure her DC would be conforted to know her mum is still remembered so fondly after all these years.

Lots of songs from 2005- 2008 remind me of my uni days and i always think about nights out etc when ever i hear them.
Different Corner by George Michael always reminds me of a relationship i had when i was 19. The guy was much older and it was quite a defining relationship in my life. Its quite an emotive song.

True colours by Cyndi Lauper. It was a dear friend's favourite song. It wasn't played at her funeral, but always makes me fill up.

Tempted by Squeeze. Remember listening to that on my Walkman on a coach down to Plymouth in 1990 after my then boyfriend had cheated on me.

I was listening to the Lightning Seeds album Sense the other day and I could taste the nineties!

It's amazing what music can do.
It almost sets events into our brain and then like a key it unlocks them.
