background music or radio when WFH

Do you play music or the radio in the background while working from home? I did before but I just can't concentrate on my work with a background music on. Then again I feel lonely without any music as my work doesn't require many meetings or emailing.

I have the radio on all day but it is 2 rooms away. I tried it in the same room but it's too distracting.

It's on and off for me, depends on my mood and what I'm working on. I listen via my laptop so easy to turn on/off.
Mainly radio for emails / easy tasks and music or silence for when I need to concentrate.

I work at home, usually alone, and I hate silence, so I have the radio on all day (6 Music), but very low, so low I can barely hear it Grin It's taken me a bit of trial and error to get the right volume: too high and it's distracting (my work mainly involves quiet concentration), too low and it is just annoying.
I also sometimes play music with no words, like film scores or classical, which I can have a bit louder as it's mainly words that distract me. Cannot have talk radio at all, and if even an interview goes on a bit too long I find it distracting and have to switch off until it's finished.

Yes for some tasks. Usually Mozart or other classical instrumental

Look on youtube for ambiances - try coffee shop or vintage office sounds, but there are loads - Sherlock Holmes' parlour, or rainy castle. They don't engage the ear like music, but they do make you feel like you're not working in silence.
