Assault

Hoping someone has some advice or thoughts. Posting in chat for traffic.
I was assaulted by my ex partner a few months back, reported to police and gave a statement. Case was not passed onto CPS as apparently not enough evidence, so I've asked them to review and this is currently happening. Meanwhile my ex partner has threatened me to drop the case so it doesn't go any further (this is out of my control, as he knows) he also physically assaulted me again. He was arrested and released without being charged.
Does anyone know what may happen now, will this recent assault be taken into account for the original case or is it separate. The police aren't being very good at communicating and it feels like I'm just waiting to hear.
Thank you.

Gosh you poor thing

Give all the evidence to police
They must forward everything to CPs

Can take a long time sadly 😢😢😢

Thanks @Queenie6655 this is what I thought as well, but they have said the evidence isn't credible or reliable enough to have a real prospect of conviction. I have asked for a victims right to review which is currently underway.
