DS white spots on fingernails

I noticed this morning that 12YO DS has a white spot on five of his fingernails. He's had a massive growth spurt recently and they seem to have come on quite suddenly. Is this something I should take him to the GP about? He's generally fit and well but we did take him for a blood test earlier in the year as he tends to get really dark and puffy under his eyes all the time. The only thing it showed was a folate deficiency which he now takes a supplement for. Should I bring him back to get seen again?

You could, but usually they just mean not enough calcium and zinc. Perhaps getting him on a multivitamin and improving his diet is way forward?

It used to be thought it was like of calcium, but now it’s just minor knocks to the nails.

I had them really badly when younger, but wearing nail varnish also improved it as it added a protective barrier.

Now I’m older l hardly get them at all.

I used to get these , my dad called them 'luck' , they just disappeared after a while.

They're calcium deposits. I had loads as a child and don't anymore
