Comfortable safety shoes for wide footed DS - where the steel toe bit doesn't dig in?!

Anyone got any recommendations for safety shoes for wide feet please?

We have tried various options from Amazon for DS but the steel toe is digging in when he bends his foot to walk - are there any shoes that don't do this?

He has just got a job in a warehouse so will be on his feet all day - any other comfort tips much appreciated!

Probably best that he goes to a shop and tries some on. He can also ask for advice on best brands to try.

Do you have an Arco near you, or another shop that sells safety shoes.

Making sure they fit properly is the best thing, and that he wears them with socks that aren't too thin. So when he tries them on, he needs to be wearing the socks he will be wearing at work.

I have two pairs of safety shoes, for clean work and dirty work. The 'clean' ones are slightly smaller than the dirty ones, so I have to wear thin socks with the clean ones and thick socks with the dirty ones, which is fine, because most of the time I'm usually tramping around great outdoor industrial facilities in them.

Sports direct certainly used to have wide fitting safety boots. DIY shops usually have a range too... B&Q, screw fix etc.

Size up and get a pair of sorbothane double strike insoles for them is the best advice for comfort though. Standing about on concrete warehouse floors in safety shoes/boots is going to be hellish without decent insoles.
Get insoles first and then take them to put into any shoes/boots he tries on.

Is there a specialist shop in his area like this one ?

Birkenstock QS series have a wide anatomical safety toe box. Keen might also be worth a look.

Thank you - I didn't realise there were specialist shops so I will find one and take him there, and get some of the insoles too.

He says when he has tried them on in the past that the steel toe cap digs in his foot as it bends when he walks - he has unfortunately been blessed with my wide and chubby feet!
