Parenting fail. Make me feel better please

DS is in secondary. Meet the form teacher evening was tonight to discuss settling in issues etc. I forgot to even make an appointment until DS mentioned it at 8pm. Single parent so no-one else cares
Anyone got any stories to make me feel less of a bad parent

Just email school to apologise and ask for a call?

You are not a bad parent because you care. Email in and let them know you'd like to have been there. It's fine

Email ask the tutor to contact you if there are any issues you need to be aware of. You are not a bad parent.

Honestly everyone has dropped the ball some time.

I once kept the kids off school, thinking it was an inset day, when the onset day was the following week.

If you've never forgotten about important appointments or events for kids, you're not a parent... surely. Perhaps not even a human!

O hot þhe wrong week for the Halloween party. I thought it was wierd having it on the 11th of October...

I also once nearly forgot to pick up younger Dd, despite picking up her sister from the same place. The headteacher shouted after me...

I have lots of parenting fails...

At least you didn't book parents evening with 7 different teachers and then arrive home after a terrible work day and realise you had missed it and stood up every single teacher 😭

That was one of my worst.
