What can you tell me about Knebworth?

We are thinking of buying a house in Knebworth. We are London folk so leaving London is a big deal for us, but to help us decide, it would be good for if anyone could tell us about life in Knebworth.

We are a family of three with a toddler and hope to have a second child too.

All I can really tell you is nice pub by station with great food, which has been bought and renovated by the community. Good trains to London Kings X or change at Finsbury P. School used to have good rep but I have no recent knowledge. There also used to be an issue about secondary schools and avoiding Stevenage ones in favour of Welwyn Garden City, Hitchin or Hertford but again I'm afraid no recent knowledge. Hopefully someone with current knowledge may come along soon.

Knebworth house is a nice green space to take the kids out in, I think they have a kids play park, fort thing.
They also have some events.

I haven't lived there, only gone through on the train though.

I did hear a man on the train describe it as a "dump" once but who knows if he was prejudiced, and that was several years ago.

The service into KC is certainly regular and a short commute.

I saw Robbie Williams there. Bloody fantastic night.

Knebworth is a lovely village and a great place to raise young children. How long term are your plans for the house? One thing to seriously bear in mind is secondary schooling, as the most likely options will be in Stevenage and the schools are not great (I know a life-long knebworth resident who moved for this reason).

Me too, missed my cousins wedding for it

But main advice, don’t park on the estate official parking for a concert as they restrict vehicle movement for an hour after it’s finished which just causes a massive traffic jam (4 hours to get out of the car park after concert) so if you’re moving there embrace the business opportunity and charge £20 for people to park on your drive. I’d pay.
