6yo in London before Christmas

I live abroad and am bringing 6yo to DS in late November for his first visit. We will be in SW London with family. What free or cheap Christmassy things can we do? He's not much of a museum person so other plans include Matilda, the Eye, fish and chips, bus trip (probably the 24). What else should we do? We only have a week.

Go to Harrods!
The Christmas Shop and Toy Floor are amazing! Obviously it’s a shop but very Christmassy and interactive and no need to buy anything.

Hamleys too! Huge toy shop, very interactive and will be Christmassy.

Covent Garden have a huge Christmas tree.
Christmas Market at Trafalgar Square.
Ice Skating at Somerset House (small £)
Christmas lights down Oxford Street, Piccadilly etc.

I think he would be surprised by the museums , they are very child friendly . The Greenwich cable cars are good .

Shops are actually a great idea, thanks. I didn't care about Christmas when I lived there so never paid attention to where had lights or trees etc. Cable car also a good idea.

Liberty’s is wonderful Christmas, we used to always go and buy one new decoration from their Christmas floor. It is quite magical!

Christmas lights at Kew.

Christmas at Kew is fantastic, lots of fun places to eat and shop, and give museum mum on Instagram a follow for ideas (not all museum based, but loads of fantastic options)!

Ooh, some lovely ideas, thank you!

Syon Park does a lovely enchanted woodland lights show. Or in north London Kenwood House does similar. Really magical

Try Coal Drops Yard at King's Cross. Lots to do and see there.

I'm not sure I would recommend Kew.
If you are going to travel out,do Hampton court they have a light trail as well.

You say he's not musuem, but London musuems are amazing.

Harrods toy dept. Used to be very good.

Christmas lights at Kew! We went last year when DD was 5.5 and it was the most wonderful joyful thing we’ve ever done with her.

Postal Museum in East London is absolutely brilliant. Really interactive plus you can book separately for their play space which is adorable. Highly recommended.
