PS3 vs Switch - help please?

Hi, can anyone advise, please?

BIL has kindly offered us his old PS3 for free, but recently my kids have had a load of fun playing on friends’ Nintendo Switches. So I was wondering whether to buy a Switch for Christmas for them instead.

I know that seems mad, but it feels like the Switch might offer them more of the games they like and just generally be more up to date. But I really don’t know anything about different gaming options - currently they play on an old iPad!

Any thoughts? Kids are 10 and 12, and big fans of Minecraft in case that’s relevant.

I'd go for the switch, you can't get any new games on the ps3. Plus if it's something they've enjoyed playing and know and there's a lot of family friendly switch games.

Definitely the switch, but if he is giving it away for free then they’ll have both to enjoy.

I'd choose the Switch for my children, but if the PS3 is going for free then I'd happily accept that as well!

Of you mean ps3 and not ps4 then the the ps3 doesn’t have new games. Switch would be a better choice
