Boys school match rugby

A very quick question for those of you with boys in secondary school....

Are they still expected to wear full school uniform to matches and change back before food?

My daughter (hockey) can just wear her tracksuit but boys seem to be in full uniform and I wondered if this was still the norm (my older son had to and I thought it stupid then but he is 20 now and hasn't played a game in 5 years!).

Y 9 DS is yes, both for school matches and his club fixtures. All seems a bit OTT to me, but I think it's traditional.

Yes i agree. I remember all the rugby boys at uni in their suits on a wednesday night . Some parents are complaining at my sons school so i wondered how normal it still was.
