I'll start... The most wealthy mc I know & one umc family do the following

Summer usually France or Italy with lots of trips to Norfolk & the like in between
Winter Christmas is usually in Barbados or Antigua. The umc family heads to Africa to Botswana or Zambia
Feb half term skiing in Switzerland, Austria or France
Easter depending on time of year either skiing again if it's an early Easter or the Home Counties to visit family or friends country pile!

Posting as was out to dinner with some old friends at the weekend & holidays came up in conversation! I'm wildly jealous. Btw not your typical middle class, became very wealthy over the years due to inheritance & excellent career moves

I think this theme was well and truly wrung dry in the last ‘middle class holiday’ thread.

FFI a précis in descending order:

First tier: Norfolk and Suffolk, obscure parts of Wales, the Dordogne, Cape Cod, Puglia, snowy places.
Second tier: Everywhere else
Third tier: Dubai

Depending on your inclination, perhaps that helps with spots to aspire to or avoid.

Will add that I was unable to contribute to the convo but have started putting serious thought into the next family holiday!

What on earth is the obsession with class on Mumsnet?

What on earth is the obsession with class on Mumsnet?

It's the start of the week:) thought I'd be the early bird & post first class thread. No need to comment if you're not interested. For me I find people fascinating other people prob not so much!

It is painful. I'm not British and I find the obsession with being middle class on here embarrassing - especially the threads that are 'lighthearted'!

Well don't post then!

Sorry OP but it is weird. No one would post a thread about lower/working class holidays because no one cares.
I think the real reason of these threads is that posters can book holidays that make them seem to be middle class.
"No Richard, we can't go to Blackpool this year, it has to be Cornwall, I read a thread about in on MN" <said in the best Hyacinth voice).
