Anyone else got unseasonably mild weather?

I'm in the SE, sat outside with a coffee and my phone says its 17 degrees. It's not even 7am! Apparently on Thursday it'll get to 19!

Hoping it's not just our little corner of the country that's so mild as we could all do with some luck this decade winter and stall the heating a little longer!

Yes but it's also pouring down with rain 🌧 🙄

RampantIvy · 17/10/2022 07:11

It's currently 12 degrees here, so slightly warmer than normal.

zen1 · 17/10/2022 07:15

16° here, but too wet to want to sit outside!

Yes, apparently it means we will have a v cold winter 🥶

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 17/10/2022 07:25

Very mild but wet. Haven't had the heating on yet this year. Really hoping we have a mild winter with the cost of heating!!

MarshaBradyo · 17/10/2022 07:27

Yes no hearing but it felt really warm, didn’t realise it was 16 outside

MarshaBradyo · 17/10/2022 07:27

Heating

vicarlady · 17/10/2022 07:28

A spell of mild weather at this time of year is often known as St Luke's little summer - St Luke's day is 18th October.

gogohmm · 17/10/2022 07:29

Yes still mild here, sw, still haven't needed heating on yet. It's 20 degrees in my bedroom currently

AuntieMarys · 17/10/2022 07:30

16 forecast today oop north.
And 10 at night this week.
Heating still not on

KangarooKenny · 17/10/2022 07:32

My thermostat is on 15 and the heating came on this morning, but it’s off now 🤣

Foolsandtheirmoney · 17/10/2022 07:34

Haha. I'm in Ireland and we have a storm. Your coffee would be in next door garden if you tried to have have your coffee outside here. Google tells me it's 9° with a real feel of 1°.

LT2 · 17/10/2022 07:36

East of England here, so not far from you - 16 degrees currently. It has been mild here for October so far. I've even felt too warm in my home the past few days (heating still off) and been pottering about in a t-shirt.

EtiquetteQuestion · 17/10/2022 07:38

You must be near me. I'm also SE - showing 17° outside (but rainy) with a forecast for 19° on Thursday. No need to turn heating on yet.

Plump82 · 17/10/2022 07:42

Nope, currently dry but has been pouring. It's 10 degrees, real feel 5. So a nip in the air!

AnyFucker · 17/10/2022 07:44

Yep, Greater Manchester

Sparklfairy · 17/10/2022 07:46

We had really heavy rain overnight but its dry for now. Its the breeze that's so eerily mild, I'm right by the sea and if my sense of direction is right it's south easterly. If it was from the north I dont think I could sit out here Grin

really hope PP isn't right about this meaning a cold winter though Sad

We're 12 at the moment and heading for 16.

I came downstairs and assumed DH had caved and put the heating on. It simply isn't cold.
