What are the trolleys full of food at the back of the supermarket for?

Are they for the employees or are they for online orders.

They are bagless and piled in trolleys usually next to a empty, corner check out.

No idea, but I'd like to know also OP. Hopeful bump to someone that knows???

In my store its either waste or put backs

Used to call them leftovers. Products that customers didn’t buy as they changed their minds, too expensive, left at the end of the check out.
