Has been in the garden for years. Looks like roman numerals on it. Possibly company initials.
I assume it's a weight or plumb line?

What is this brick with a hole in it?

Do a google phot search x

Well I just did it myself as I'm a nosey git and it may be a Victorian window sash weight.

Thanks crazee. I will have a play with that suggestion.

I doubt it's a Victorian sash window weight. I have one that was removed when a sash was repaired and which if I could lift it (it's made of cast iron) would be a very handy offensive weapon. The numerals are VIII so could be Roman - do you have a local musuem you can take it to?

I don't think it's a window weight, the ones around here are kind of long thin lead or cast iron weights so they can fit in the window casing. That would be too big.

Could it be for a gatepost to go through or something?

crazeekat · 17/10/2022 18:54

Not too big when u see photos of other similar ones online .anyways I hope u find out and put ur curiosity to rest haha xx

I keep googling crazee!

Our local museum is staffed by volunteers but I might pop down this weekend if I've not figured it out by then.

Still no idea what it is. A local museum is trying to help.

The mystery continues......
