Please can someone advise me on hiking Boot fit?

Help! I need to get some new hiking boots. The ones I have are a perfect fit but as well as deteriorating fast I have had two pairs from Salawa and three of the four boots have had faults. So I really would prefer another brand but with a similar fit. I would be very grateful for suggestions (ideally cheaper ones - I can't afford £200 a pop!).

These are me current ones. www.sportsshoes.com/product/slw103/salewa-mountain-trainer-mid-gore~tex-women%27s-walking-boots-~--aw22/#sku-slw103

I think it's really worth going to a specialist shop and getting them properly fitted. They are an investment and badly fitting walking boots are really miserable.

My last pair came from go outdoors, the ones ⁷ or 8 years before came from decathlon. I lived in those boots... I took my favourite socks, tried lots of styles and sizes and spent ages walking round the shop until I found the right pair... Strangely I tried two different pairs of the same boot in the same size and they felt completely different. I'd never buy online. There's nothing worse than badly fitting boots. Good luck!

Salawa mtn trainers are meant to be wide in the toe box but narrow in the heel. I’m not sure of any other brand with that combination. If you think you have wide feet then look at Salomons and also Meindl.

have to say I think the quality of all brands has gone down in recent years.

I had a pair properly fitted recently and bought something completely different to what I had in mind but they’re so comfy.
They checked the length, width, had me walking up and down a slope and were really thorough. I didn’t end up with the most expensive either.

Go to a specialist shop, try them with a pair of walking socks and make sure they are not too small otherwise you will loose toe nails. Remember your feet swell up when warm.

Thanks all. Prior to these I had mine badly fitted in Go Outdoors. These were fitted in a specialist shop but it's a long way to get there and I just can't afford the petrol. Nearest specialist sadly.

Really appreciate the help on this.

Ask somewhere like Cotswold outdoors- if you have the make of your current boots they may be able to recommend something
