I’ve found the worlds stupidest mug handle

It’s fucking stupid.

The mug also isn’t insulated so you either have to have your hand round a boiling cup or hold that stupid tiny knob that’s made of slippery ceramic so when it’s filled with boiling hot tea, you are very much at risk of spillage and scalding your knees (other body parts also apply but my experience is the knee!)

Honestly, the stupidness

Now that is daft

AnApparitionQuipped · 16/10/2022 10:30

How did it come to be in your possession?

Hugasauras · 16/10/2022 10:30

Looks like it was made for a gigantic Lego person

KnickerlessParsons · 16/10/2022 10:31

It doesn't look all that stable either - very top heavy.

AIIyMcBeal · 16/10/2022 10:31

It’s not even hitting the correct minimalist Instagram vibes. 0/10 buck it in the bin

NippyWoowoo · 16/10/2022 10:32

😂

I thought mine (that I was given) with a Christmas tree in the middle was bad enough with it being so difficult to stir but this wins. My fingers would hurt within 2.5 seconds of holding it and I'd drop it. Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing.

notprincehamlet · 16/10/2022 10:33

It might be ok for, y'know, scooping water from a bubbling (or babbling) spring but I'm guessing that's quite a niche market

😂 imagine the possibilities!

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 16/10/2022 10:35

Stick googly eyes either side of the handle, put an aloe Vera plant (or similar, something upwardly spikey) in it and it'll look like Beaker from the muppets.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 16/10/2022 10:37

😂 it’s my flatmates, who as far as I know, isn’t a Lego person but I’m not a hundred percent sure now tbh boys the only excuse to own utter stupidity!

we are in Scandinavia (which has some stupid designs 😂) so could infact scoop some babbling brook water from the forest

I saw it and thought. Oh that’s stupid, what’s the point of the knob when you’ll just hold it round the cup.

except you won’t unless you have asbestos fingers. You will burn yourself one way or another

Not as stupid as the latte I was presented with in a cafe in Hebden Bridge - that came in a glass with no handle at all! I asked for it to be put into a proper cup, much to the mortification of the friend I was with - she's from London and tells me that it's common there. They must have more resilient fingers there....

EndlessMagpies · 16/10/2022 11:05

I am much enjoying your over-door storage solution in the background of the photo.

Incidentally, considering your username, are you sure you're not a Lego person?

custardbear · 16/10/2022 11:19

A free gift from the Tory conference?

ParentallyUnprepared · 16/10/2022 11:24

I really want to get one for my brothers.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 16/10/2022 12:06

here is a link to this stupidness should anyone have a Lego friend to buy for!

I have this mug OP! albeit in a different colour -

I actually don't mind it, if the drink isn't too hot (or hot at all) I quite like the way the little knob sort of rests on top of your fingers if you wrap it round the mug - a sentence I did not imagine saying today but you know what I mean.

Granted though, not ideal and a 'normal' handle is easier. How does your flatmate use it? I was given a set as a housewarming present and we use most of them as pen pots..

😁
But what not hot drink are you having out of a mug?? That’s what glasses are for!

I absolutely cannot get on board with it!

I’ve never actually seen her use it tbh, we have a load of these that we love (and are double walled and silicone covered so totally fine without a handle) but they were all in the dishwasher and I couldn’t be bothered to take one out to wash up…then ended up wiping the floor up from tea spillage from the stupid cup anyway 😂

The storage solution works quite well! We are not blessed with lots of storage space (standard Copenhagen kitchen…) so find any that we can!

I am now going to ring my parents to confirm I’m not a Lego person 🙃😬
