What tech do your tweens have?

I’m looking to upgrade my tweens tech/gadgets and I’m interested in what people have for their children? He will be 10 soon. Has a younger sibling and they currently have use of a retro Sega. A Wii with LOADS of games. An iPad and use of two laptops.

Things we are considering (assume second hand for the games consoles)
Playstation
X-Box
Nintendo Switch
Echo Dot for room

We tend to get this stuff second hand so any advice for which model PlayStation or X-Box would be great.

Christ, that’s more tech per tween than our whole household has.

I’d buy them a football.

My 10 and 13 year old have an old iPhone each and an old iPad each.
They have use of one laptop and one switch.

They have a football and the youngest plays in a local football team every Saturday and Sunday (we’ve just returned from training).

Im looking to upgrade the tech as the Sega really is as retro and pixelated as you can get.

Id look at a 2nd hand ps4 or xbox (not sure the models). My 13 year old has ps5 qnd uses it online with pals. If they have xbox or pc so cant live call they use video chat

11 year old has an iPod, a laptop, a Nintendo switch and a netbook because her new school insisted that every child has to have the same one but we bought her the laptop a couple of years ago partly for doing homework on

We have an Xbox & a PS4 in the house too, and they’re free to use them whenever if they’re free. Probably best to see which console DC’s friends use, as some games aren’t cross-platform (e.g. DS almost exclusively uses the Xbox cos that’s what his friends use).

Alexa in their room gets used plenty. Apart from that laptop is dd9's favourite device. Dd12 just uses her phone

I know his friends have a variety so I’m not too bothered. His best friend has a PlayStation. In terms of games such as Minecraft. Is this accessible through the consoles? He plays Roblox on the iPad.

DD just 9 has iPad Air 4, switch, iPhone 8 & echo dot and a notebook.

No laptop as he uses his PC if needed. He may need a laptop for gcses.

My nearly 10 Yr old has a switch and the use of a family laptop to play Minecraft Java. He has an old tablet but it rarely gets used. The Switch is great for this age but isn't really cheap second hand.

My 10yo has an echo dot and a fire tablet. We have a ps4 in the living room and I have a Nintendo switch that I share with him.
