Anyone have any recommendations for companies that do breastmilk jewellery?

We have another baby on the way and I’d like to celebrate 2 years of feeding my daughter (hoping to tandem feed with the baby when they arrive!).

There’s lots of links on google but just wondered if anyone had any experience with any.

Thanks! X

Thank you for posting about this. I hadn't heard of these before but I've googled and I love the idea! I'm 14mo bf with ds 🫶🏼
Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck with the next chapter in your breastfeeding journey! Xxx

Aww the bear is cute… I didn’t even know you could make jewellery out of milk lol😮

Anyone who's had these - do you know of anywhere I can provide the gold setting for maybe a pendant?

chickeningonup · 12/11/2022 23:50

Cumbria Life Casting for the stones.

The settings were done in diamonds by a jeweller.

A huge recommendation for Tanya at Milk Diamond - her selection of items and service is fantastic!

I also used Cumbria life casting adn was really pleased with them

I had absolutely no idea this existed as a concept, you learn something new every day.

I can't say it appeals to me personally but by no means is that an insult, quite the opposite really - I think it's lovely that the act of breastfeeding is so meaningful for some and that there is a way to commemorate it in a way that those inclined to, enjoy. Also nice to see small businesses existing for so many things these days.

roarfeckingroarr · 13/11/2022 14:53

I absolutely meant to do this but somehow forgot. Number 2 is due soon so will remember this time around.

twoandcooplease · 07/03/2023 13:20

Hi @chickeningonup can you help please?

I have the gold that will be used for my pendant setting but was wondering what order I should do it in?
Do I send the bm off to be made into a stone first? I also want to send them real gold flakes (possibly to Cumbria Life as yours are perfect)
Then once I have the stone the jewellers fit it into the setting?

My BM started to run out suddenly this week and I'm worried I don't get it done
I have looked at the diy ones and Etsy sellers but don't have a clue what to do! Xx

moppa · 07/03/2023 14:56

@twoandcooplease chickening here!

I got the stones made first.. email Cumbria and see what they advise - my husband sorted it all out for me Grin

I got the stones made first, then took them to an independent jeweller of my choice with a photo from Pinterest of what I was thinking x

I wanted a glass stone rather than resin, and a gold band to match my wedding and engagement rings.

Used Precious by Kerry and I LOVE it.

Is this an actual thing? It's absolutely vile!

If you think that is Vila then you should goggle Jizzy Jewellery.

GoKartMozart · 07/03/2023 17:05

Whoever you chose read the reviews carefully, and be careful of Etsy etc who might not necessarily be following the processes properly.
A lot of people set the milk into resin, like the little bear above. Before it can go into the resin the milk needs to be dried, otherwise it looks fabulous for a while but eventually discolours and goes off.

Find out what process the company is using before you commit and ask if you can see some older pieces to make sure they last!

twoandcooplease · 07/03/2023 17:39

Thanks @moppa!! It's really beautiful and professional

@GoKartMozart that's what I was worried about so glad I checked in with pp

@LividNC thank you for sharing that's gorgeous. Gives me some thinking to do....
